Candles lovers certainly don't need any excuse to pick up a nice scent but there's no denying candles and autumn go hand in hand. Which could be why I've managed to acquire four new candles in the past month alone.
For me gone are the days I pick up a magazine as a treat (blame the increase in price yet decrease in written content) rather spending the same amount of money on a new candle to light and enjoy of an evening.
While I burn candles all year round the cosiness of autumn as the nights draw in encourages my love of candles, bringing out old favourites and seeking out new scents. So today I wanted to share with you four home fragrance brands that I've loved for years that suit all budgets.

Ahhh, another wonderful box for July from Candle Belle that I needed to share with you! If you aren't familiar with Candle Belle as a company then you may want to read my first ever post on them here, or just know they are one of the best natural candle brands out there with so many fun and realistically scented wax melts and candles.
The above box, known as the Mega Melt Box is a monthly subscription box where you receive 9 beautifully scented soy wax melts to melt in your own burner for £11.00 per month here or you can pick your own scents with a one off box for £12.50 here - something I highly recommend doing if you are new to the brand and love to burn wax tarts/melts, as it's only a £1.50 extra spend.

What's in July's Mega Melt Box?
For me this has to be my favourite box so far as it contains 5 scents that are perfect for summer, such as Apple Mango Tango and Summer Berry Blast, but 4 scents that can be carried through to autumn and even winter with scents like Whispering Winds, Chocolate Brownie (OMFG I want to eat this one!) and Twisting Peppermint. A box of wax melts I'll be really enjoying working my way through over the next few months. So below I've ordered the melts in an almost spring/summer to autumn/winter fashion.
Spring Tulips
This melt is exactly like inhaling a bouquet of tulips, it's fresh and natural. Perfect for a freshly tidied home or when you want a refreshing break from stronger scents.
Apple Mango Tango
Another fresh but fruity scent here with a mix of apple, sweet pear and mango. Again one I'd burn during the day with the windows open to enjoy the fresh scent all the way through the house.
Lemongrass
I was unsure of the sound of a lemongrass scent but this is just a true lemon scent that's so uplifting and bright. One to burn in the kitchen or when you're in the happiest of moods! Very summery.
Summer Berry Blast
This is a melt with so many berry layers to it, I can smell cherries, currents and raspberries in this. This makes me think of a summer fruit punch. One to burn after a day in the sun!
Doodlebug
I love these almost secret scented melts that you havent't got a clue what they will smell of. Dooblebug for me is a mix of strong bubblegum and a hint of watermelon and it instantly makes me think of my childhood when I'd get a hard bubblegum sweet in my 50p pic n' mix! Such a fun scent that I'll really enjoy burning.
Whispering Winds
A scent I'm personally unsure about but it's unique none the less. I pick up the scent of freesias and other delicate florals but then it's almost wrapped in a neutral none overpowering mascline scent. I can see this as an autumnal scent so I will be saving it until then to fully decide if I like it or not.
Chocolate Brownie
Oh lordy this is a good one... and one I can't stop sniffing in the tub! This makes me dream of freshly baked chocolate brownie cookies as it's such a rich chocolate-y scent. Perfect for cosy autumn/winter evenings but I know I will be burning this ASAP.
Gingerbread Men
Another total winner for me even though I'm not a huge fan of the actual biscuits. This is warm and inviting and what I imagine gingerbread dough to smell like before it goes into the oven. A warm welcoming scent to burn in winter/Christmas.
Twisting Peppermint
Lastly a truly festive scent that instantly reminds me of sweet minty candy canes. This is subtly minty and sweet, a perfect combination. I will be trying my best to save this until Christmas but may end up burning it and treating myself to the full size candle come December.
P.S You can buy all the melts individually here for £2.00 each or as mentioned create your own box for £12.50 here! I highly recommend - Raspberry Ripple, Lemon Meringue, Chocolate Brownie and Red Velvet mmm all so good!
So so pleased with this box and think I love Candle Belle even more now!

Last month I shared with you my first ever Candle Belle Mega Melt Box that I'm still enjoying. But at the start of the week May's box landed on my doormat for me to get stuck into and I was so pleased to see so many amazing spring/summer scent to try out.
If you are new to Candle Belle as a brand think of a wax mega melt like the Yankee Candle wax tarts, but bigger and in handy plastic tubs! A quarter of a melt is placed in an oil/wax burner and melted to release a long lasting fragrance with an incredible scent throw. The mega melt box is a monthly subscription for £11.00 (here) and includes 9 pre-selected melts or for a little more, £12.50 (here) you can buy a one off box of 9 melts and select your own scents! You can also pick up individual mega wax melts for £2.00 each here.
Below are the mega melts you will find in the May Candle Belle box along with my thoughts on all the scents...

Raspberry Ripple - Okay, so I had to put my favourite EVER scent from Candle Belle first! I swear I've literally had this under my nose for over 5 minutes as I typed this post. The scent of this is so true to a raspberry ripple sundae with a sweet raspberry scent mixed with vanilla ice-cream. On sunny hot days this will be straight in my burner.
Home Sweet Home - This scent reminds me of a gift/interior shop... yes, that does sound a little strange but it has that warm cinnamon and clove scent that's so inviting. It also has notes of freshly brewed tea and rose that I definitely can pick up on. I've already put this aside as my melt to burn when I have guests as I know it will make my house smell amazing.
Red Delicious - When melts are so true to scent they smell exactly like the real thing I'm impressed and this certainly smells exactly like a fresh red golden delicious apple. Having said that, it isn't my most favourite scent from the box but one I can't stop smelling because I can't believe how spot on Candle Belle got it. If you love juicy apples you will be amazed at this scent.
Vanilla Chai - Vanilla Chai isn't a scent I've ever smelt before so I can't really comment too much of this melt. It is fairly subtle though with a mix of creamy vanilla and a hint of ginger.
Loving Spell - A perfume based scent here that has interesting notes of sweet mandarin, bergomot and tangerine with a musk edge. This is sadly not for me as it's slightly too heady and reminds me more of a fragrance you would wear rather than burn.
Baby Powder - Love the smell of a freshly talcum powder babies bum? Strangest question ever maybe, but this is the scent made into a wax melt! This is another scent I'm just so impressed by as Candle Belle has the scent spot on here - a perfect combination of velvety musk and powdery sweetness.
Lemon Meringue - Another favourite scent that I can't stop inhaling and will be burning asap. This again smells so true to scent and actually combines a true lemon scent with the buttery crust of a lemon meringue pie. If this could be made into a fragrance I would wear it all through summer as it's just delicious!
French Lavender - This is a scent I can't make my mind up about as it's a twist of the classic lavender scent with subtle notes of pine and eucalyptus but I know this will make such a relaxing scent to burn before bed. Actually so much so that I'm planning to buy another burner to place next to my bed so I can burn this scent before sleep. Not a melt I would have thought to pick up but I do find lavender very relaxing.
Balmy Beaches - Mmmm this is just the most perfect scent for the summer months. The scent of this smells like sweet orange flower in a warm breeze and instantly makes me think of somewhere warm and lush like the Bahamas. Another scent I keep on having a sniff of and can't wait to try out in my burner.
My favourite scents from this box have to be - Raspberry Ripple, Lemon Meringue, Balmy Beaches and Home Sweet Home... oh and Baby Powder! If you are in to trying out lots of different scents then the Mega Melt Subscription box is for you but if you know you want to try certain scents (from the 55 flavours!) then I'd highly recommend that £1.50 extra spend to select your own and make up your own custom box for £12.50 here.
Off to burn the Raspberry Ripple wax melt now!

If you read the first of my new candle review series last week then you will know how obsessed with candles I am right now. In particular a brand new on my radar: Candle Belle.
The Candle Belle fragrance selection of both their soy wax double wick candles and mega melts is huge - I'm talking 50+ unique scents and they really are great value for money (from only £2 each here). I personally love candles but prefer to burn wax melts in my burner (the above Yankee Candle burner was a bargain £4.80 from Tesco!) as it's a great way to try out lots of different scents on a budget before committing to buy a full size candle or just because you enjoy discovering new fragrances.
Of course the most popular wax tart/melts on the market are Yankee Candle and in the past I've tried my fair share however there are smaller business' out there like Candle Belle that offer high quality natural soy wax melts with unique scents, a stronger throw and more product for your money - plus ultra handy plastic tubs to store them in!

Candle Belle's Mega Melts come in 55 fragrances for £2.00 each (here) but with options to buy a 9 Mega Melt bundle for only £12.50 (here) or get sent a random surprise selection of 9 melts each month with the Mega Melt Box for £11.00 (here).
If you LOVE home fragrance and using a burner over burn candles then a subscription like the Mega Melt Box will be perfect for you (or possibly you and a friend or family member to share) to keep you in constant supply of melts to try out. However the best option for me, as I'm constantly trying out other candles, is to spend a little bit more on a Mega Melt bundle to give me the freedom to pick 9 scents I really want to try out with the knowledge I can buy more single melts or another 9 melt bundle in the future.
So far I've tried quite a few scents from both the Mega Melt Box for April and single Mega Melts with Red Velvet (literally smells of the richest cake!), Orange Dreamsicle (the orange scent is just so intense) and Pralines & Cream (just mmm) being my ultimate favourites. I truly could burn these 3 scents all day long and in fact I'm tempted to see what a quarter of Red Velvet with a quarter of Pralines & Cream would burn like - that's if wax melt cocktails are even a thing?!
I'm still eager to try - Key Lime Pie, Chocolate Brownie, Cola Cubes and Lemon Meringue to name just a few. Though I do have quite a selection to still try out from my Mega Melt Box such as Caribbean Dream which mentally transports you to a tropical beach with cocktail in hand, and Cotton and Blossoms which smells exactly like freshly laundered sheets you just want to inhale deeply.

Pssst - the different textures of wax are due to pouring the melt wax back in the tub from the burner to try out a different scents! |
It's really not often I dedicate an entire post on one brand but I'm honestly been so so impressed with everything about Candle Belle, I just cant get over how true to scent they are, and think/know my days of collecting Yankee Candle wax tarts are over!
I really wish you could smell the scents in this post (alas, if only smell-o-vision was a really thing) as they are truly the best I've come across in wax tarts/melts and for that reason I needed to have a good ramble about them!
Let me know if you try any of the melts because I'm candle/wax melt obsessed right now and can talk all day on the subject!

I've reviewed many Neom candles in the past on Makeup Savvy and feel I have finally found my signature candle - the one for me.
All of Neom's candles give off more than just a scent, the essential oils can really create an atmosphere and can change your mood to whatever you desire; relaxed, inspired, uplifted and so on.
So if you do love your essential oil organic candles then finding that one candle that is just perfect for what you want is amazing. For me I have been searching for a candle that makes me feel totally relaxed without a hint of lavender and I have finally found it with Serenity.
The scent of the candle is Vanilla & Sandalwood. With the vanilla being warming and comforting and the sandalwood being a very calming scent in the background. This isn't one of Neom's strongest candles but for me this is ideal, I want something I can burn whilst I sit and read or take a bath that doesn't become too heady or essential oil smelling. Plus it of course burns clean being organic - no smoke or soot being released into the air.
I'm not one to have tried aroma therapy before and couldn't imagine how much a scent could change my mood, but with this scent I can totally understand how aroma therapy works as this just relaxes me on another level.
I of course really enjoy the scent as the vanilla is warm and yummy and mixed with the sandalwood there is a hint of orange chocolate, which I love! But the scent really does make me breath in a more relaxed way and I feel like I am really inhaling the essentials oils that just evoke this feeling of calm.

Neom candles are pricey but I feel the travel sized ones won't break the bank and can be moved from room to room. This little one is currently burning in my bedroom but it's also been in the living room and the bathroom. You can find this specific candle on Look Fantastic for £15 free p&p here.
I'm so pleased to have finally found the candle that is right for me. I really wouldn't alter the scent in any way, even if I could.
Just perfect!

When it comes to candles you can't get any better than with a Neom candle (and yes, I did spell Neom wrong in the above image... oops!)
They are without a doubt a luxury but with up to 50 hours of burning time this is a treat that keeps on giving.
I will admit I was recently lured back into purchasing cheaper non-organic candles, as I do miss impulse candle buys when shopping of random scents that take my fancy. But I have discovered three things - 1. the scent of standard candles is either too over powering which induces a headache or I can't even smell the scent at all. 2. The soot that is expelled from the flame is a bit worrying and more obvious now that I am use to burning organic candles. 3. standard candles burn a lot faster.
So I will be sticking to only organic candles from now on... no straying!
So on to Neom's latest Limited Edition Candle...
Enchantment (£42.00 here) is a delicate, uplifting scent of Bluebell, Guaiawood and Rose that really bring the feeling and scents of a summers woodland forest indoors.
Compared to Neom's other scents this is lighter but is almost more spa like than the other scents, making it an ideal candle to burn when relaxing at home. It really is hard to explain the unique scent it gives off that is as equally relaxing as it is uplifting.
As for the packaging the limited edition candle is presented in a frosted white glass votive, which gives off a nice glow when burning and also hides how much of the candle has been burnt. Plus the addition of a lovely wooden candle cap, that again hides how much of the candle has been burnt and keeps the surface of the candle free from dust. This also fits any of the Home candles in the Neom range. I can't help but think once it is burnt up it can be re-used as a place for house keys or even on the side of the sink for soap or cotton balls.
As I mentioned Neom is a luxury brand with luxury price tags but their candles compared to standard candles are just miles apart. Not do they scent the whole home but they are an experience in that the scent really is therapeutic and can really uplift your mood.
This truly is a beautiful candle an now my favourite scent from Neom along with Refresh which is a summery blend of lemon and fresh basil.
You can purchase the candle here but I am going to direct you to A Model Recommends as Ruth has a lovely 15% off code that she is sharing with her readers until the end of the month.

From talking about Christmas in my last post to a fresh, zingy candle!
In the past two years I have become a candle lover, but not just any old candle lover, oh no - an organic candle lover! Gone are the days where I use to buy any old candle (though sometimes I do give in to Jelly Belly candles) because now I am use to soot-free, natural scents.
For tea lights I like Heaven Scent ones, for wax tarts that I use in a burner I love Busy Bee candles (the strongest scented candles you can buy in my opinion) and for actual candles I love Neom.
Now this Neom Invigorate Candle (£39.50/1kg or £15/0.25kg) may seem like an odd choice this time of year, but for me I need something zingy and up lifting during the day so I don't go into hibernation mode with my throw. I am not joking, at the sign of colder weather I start having 6pm naps and sitting with my throw watching TV!
So this candle has been filling my living room with fresh scents of grapefruit, bergamot & lime... though I can't truly say I know what bergamot smells like. Making for a fresh and energising aroma, in fact this has to be Neoms most fresh candle they do. Though of course if you are new to Neom or do not want to splash out the nearly £40 for the 1kg 3-wick home candle then there is the travel candle (0.25kg single wick) at a more modest £15.00 which does actually last quite some time.
Going back to the organic element of the candle this have the benefit of burning clean, meaning that no soot is carried in the smoke resulting in a pure aroma and a stain-free wall! Also this means no charring to the glass candle holder which so many candles do.
Just a wonderful candle that is so uplifting for when you are tired, stressed or just needing to relax.

If you know me, you will know that I am a bit candle obsessed. I currently have two candles in my living room, three in my dining room, one in next to the bath and a candle wax burner in my bedroom next to the bed.
All I am pleased to say are natural/organic and free from toxic fumes & soot. You can read why I choose natural candles - here.
The Neom Happiness candle contains a beautiful blend of white neroli, mimosa & lemon (see below for my pathetic attempt at describing the scent) and comes in two sizes - Home candle which has 3 wicks (380g wax/55 hours burn time) and a Travel candle (75g wax/20 hours).
The Happiness Home candle costs £39.50 - here
The Happiness Travel candle costs £15.00 - here
I highly recomend the travel candle size if you are new to Neom or want to try out an organic candle for the first time (I really do think most people will see why organic candles are so much better once they have tried one out).

In a way describing how a candles smells never does it justice and I know I definitely can't do this candle any justice as the scent is just so clean and fresh and perfect for burning in spring/summer. The Neroli (the flower that is on the box) and Mimosa just go so well together and blend in to a scent that is fresh, floral and then with a hint of lemon which gives it a slightly sweet element.
I tend to find myself only burning this during the day (it's in my living room) as it's so uplifting and pleasant. I also always burn this candle before I know anyone is coming round as since switching to only natural and organic candles I can't stand the smell of air freshener, plus the synthetic scent of an aerosol spray does only stay around for a few minutes, were as with the Neom candles you can smell the scent hours & hours after you have blown it out.
As for burn time the home candle gives an amazing 55 hours burn time and I generally burn the candle 1-2 hours at a time. So it really does last months and months and even when it's not burning it does look pretty and quite posh.
With such a large candle it is important that it has more than one wick so that it burns evenly. There is nothing worse than spending money on a large candle for only the center to burn leaving a third of the wax just wasted. So this is something I really like with the larger Neom candles - they literally burn right down and no wax is wasted at all.

Also due to maybe the candle being organic or the thickness of the glass, the glass doesn't char/blacken making it sightly whilst burning but it also means you can re-use the glass holder for something else after the candle has been used up. I use an old Neom candle turned around so you cannot see the logo with pebbles in and an artificial glass plant in my bathroom, but you could even re-use it as a brush holder.
Out of all the Neom candles I have tried I would say this is my favourite as the scent is just so pleasant and perfect.
Neom really do the best quality
candles.
