With the cold snap in full force here in the UK, I thought there was no better time than to create an eBay cosy home edit filled with some bargain buys.
Regardless of the weather outside I love a cosy home, filled with fur cushions, cosy blankets and a comforting candles burning. Below you will find all my recent finds that I hope you love just as much as I do!
Just a few days ago I wrote a post on my favourite makeup pieces to keep Winter at bay. I shared a touch of spring in the form of a cream blush I can't get enough of and highlighters both powder and liquid took centre stage. But for me, skincare plays an equal role (if not more), especially when it comes to glowing skin.
Below are the key skincare pieces in my routine that make a difference. From a moisturiser that makes me feel like it's summer to a few much needed chemical exfoliators that really get the job done!
However, I've always been determined to not let the weather or how I feel about it show, especially when it comes to my skin and the makeup I wear. When rainy bleak days are upon us in the depth of Winter I like to seek out light yet effective makeup and maintain my glow focused skincare routine. In the first part of this post discover the main players in my winter makeup bag.
Come colder weather my love of lotions and potions seems to dramatically change. From preferring gourmand inspired scent over fresh ones and upping the 'richness' of all my formulas so they perform better on my slightly drier skin type.
Below I wanted to share only five of my most used and cherished products for Winter thus far. From a hand cream that makes a visible difference to my most comforting go-to shower product and more. I hope you find a few new products here for the cold months to come.
Come winter time even the healthiest of hair can become dry and lacklustre. I know this more than anyone as last year in the coldest months I skipped hair treatments and products all together which resulted in my colour processed hair looking and feeling beyond dry.
However this year I've got it together and already have a foolproof winter haircare routine down.
As you will see below I have two routines - my 3 times a week hair drying rountine in which I use the right tools i.e my trusty Tangle Teezer brushes that ensure I don't damage my hair whilst it's still wet and a once a week treatment where I use a deep conditioning mask either in shower or over night. If you are looking for products and tools that will looks after and nourish your hair throughout the colder months then look no further!

My no-snag hair drying routine
After washing my hair with a SLS-free shampoo and finishing with a good quality conditioner I towel dry my hair. As my routine is about avoiding damage to my hair I make sure to never rub it with a towel but to tightly squeeze it allowing the towel to soak up the excess water. Then in the same respect because wet hair is when it's most elastic and likely to snap off I use my original Tangle Teezer Detangling Brush to tease through the knots. I've used Tangle Teezer brushes for years now and wouldn't use any other brush on wet hair as the flexible teeth never pull on the hair and without a doubt minimise breakages.
Once my hair is combed through and knot-free I apply my favourite Moroccanoil treatment to the ends of my hair which truly nourishes my dry ends and tames any split ends. Again this is such an essential winter step for me.
Next I blow dry my hair on the mid-setting of my Nicky Clarke SuperShine Hair Dryer with the Tangle Teezer Blow-Styling Smoothing Tool. Unlike traditional metal round barrels blow-drying brushes this brush offers a gentle blow-style that doesn't pull on the roots of the hair and thanks to the wider teeth leads to a quicker drying time which means less heat damage! My hair once dry is left shiny and generally not in need of any extra heat styling tools as I like to limit this to once a week.
Both of the brushes above can now be purchased together in the Tangle Teezer Two Steps To Yeah Hair Gift Set for £25.00. This is just the perfect pairing of brushes that will look after your hair and is an investment in my opinino as they will last you a very long time and only benefit the hair.
Side note - Though this gift set is new to me I've been using both brushes in my hair drying routine for well over a year now. I truly recommend them!

My once-a-week deep conditioning routine
Once a week throughout the colder winter months I give my hair a good deep conditioning! This is another essential for achieving nourished glossy looking hair. Depending on time I either give my hair an overnight ultra deep condition or at least an entire evening or an in-shower deep condition which takes 10 minutes. Both give amazing results and I fully recommend trying them out to see how soft your hair looks and feels afterwards.
For my quick deep condition my go-to product is Macadamia Deep Repair Masque which requires to be combed into wet hair and left for 7+ minutes. To do this I work the mask through the mid lengths and ends of my hair then use the Tangle Teezer Detangling Brush for Thick & Curly hair to comb it though. Now I have neither thick or curly hair but the longer flexible teeth of the comb mean the hair can be easily brushed through as well as working the product into the hair. I imagine the detangling brush would work amazingly well on dense curly or afro hair for that very reason. Once the time if up I thorough rinse my hair and instantly I can noticed the difference even in the shower due to zero knots and the silky smooth texture.
If I have more time I like to use Vita Coco Extra Virgin Coconut Oil (you can find it in most supermarkets) as a leave on hair mask for a few hours or even over night. Coconut Oil is an amazing multi-purpose ingredient and makes an incredible deep conditioning hair treatment. As it's a solid I gradually heat up the coconut oil in a ramekin dish and once lukewarm apply it from root to tip to give both my scalp and hair a pamper. I again brush through my hair with the Tangle Teezer Detangling Brush to work in all the oil and because I find hair treatments work best on knot-free, combed hair. As an overnight treatment I will them put my hair up into a bun or if it's just an express treatment I will wrap my hair in a towel as the extra heat gets the oil working I find.
These two routines keep my hair is optimum condition now and all the products mentioned really are my winter hair care essentials!

With skincare being such a personal things due to varying skin types and needs I don't often talk about it, especially when it comes to facial creams. However come the colder months going from artificially heated environments to the harsh cold I believe all skin types can do with extra nourishment to add moisture and hydration back into the skin.
A good facial cream in autumn/winter can totally transform how the skin looks sans makeup or even how your makeup applies. So picking up one wonder tub that will last you 5-6 months is totally worth it! Which is why I thought I'd share with you three creams that I would class as 'sleep in a jar' as they all bring the skin back to life with some amazing ingredients, helps signs of ageing by plumping up fine lines and they all definitely improve skin texture and comfortability.

Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream
£24.00/50ml John Lewis HERE
Khiel's certainly know how to do skincare and this iconic face cream is without a doubt a favourite of mine. If like me you spend a lot of time indoors with the heating on in winter then this stuff is like a refreshing drink to the skin, literally your skin will soak up the cream in seconds. It instantly soothes the skin whether you feel like it need it or not and provides all day hydration without clogging up pores. I personally feel the cream it's light enough, yet hydrating for all skin types and perfect for sensitive skin. I just can't get enough of the light almost water-like texture that renews my skin so well and always brings it back to life! If you're never without the heating on in winter or work in a office then this cream is for you. Also it's pretty damn affordable especially as a little goes a long way. Extra Tip: This is also amazing on the back on the hands as an anti ageing treatment.
If you're already a fan of Khiel's Ultra Facial Cream then you may want to snap up my snazzy packaged 125ml tub that costs £43.50 but donates a generous £10 to the MTV Staying Alive Foundation, which can be found at Khiel's concessions and Feel Unique here.
Korres Wild Rose Advanced Repair Sleeping Facial
£26/40ml Look Fantastic HERE
If you are looking for a luxury feeling overnight cream then look no further as this is pretty special. Before going into this cream I want to talk about the scent and I'm not a huge fan of rose scented products like many, however I am a fan of the wild rose collection from Korres as it actually smells incredible due to the true rose scent that's delicate and fresh, and not a scent that will remind you of old ladies talc! If all rose products smelt as good as this I would be totally converted. I just wanted to put that out there as I know rose scented lotions and potions can be a no-no for quite a lot of people.
That aside, onto the good stuff that's housed in a stunning subtle ombre rose tinted glass jar. Containing 95% natural ingredients including vitamin C and hyaluronic acid this is a well thought out cream that gets to work as you sleep. With a firm quite gelatinous texture similar to thier like day cream (which I love!) this is to be smoothed over the face before bed and comfortably soaks into the skin. I personally like to apply this to my forehead, cheeks and down onto my neck, avoiding my oily T-zone, and on the nights I use this I always wake up to the softest skin that looks so much brighter and renewed. Just a totally nourishing cream that is suitable for all skin types however more mature and dry skin types will certainly get the most out of this amazing overnight cream.
Philosophy Renewed Hope In A Jar for Dry Skin
£35.50/60ml Boots HERE
Another super light almost water-like cream here but one that provides even more hydration for dry or mature skin especially in winter that helps the appearance of wrinkles, discolouration and skin texture. Perfect for dry sensitive skin this is an ideal cream under makeup as it creates an instantly smooth plumped up base for foundation or BB cream. Another cream that your skin literally drinks up and feels soothed and refreshed by.
I know a few people with dry skin that love this cream as a day cream under makeup but for oilier skin types this will also works as a comfortable night cream that will brighten and smooth by the morning, just make sure to cleanse the skin of excess product on waking. Another wonderful gentle get affective facial cream here. You can also find a lovely little 3-piece Renewed Hope In A Jar set that includes the cream plus a cleanser and eye cream from Boots for only £26.00 here.
Hope you've found a winter facial cream here. I know I'm spoilt for choice!

Today I have for you another wonderful set from Ciate. Ciate have to be the most original brand when it comes to gift set packaging and I for one adore their range of seasonal houses. Haute House is Ciate's third seasonal house of 2014 and contains 5 deep shades perfect to both autumn and winter.
The full set costs £22 and includes - Can Can (deep burgundy), For the thrill of it (molten gold), Sass pot (deep purple), Knee highs (royal blue) and Tickle my fancy (rich emerald). All the shades are standard mini size and of course will last you a long time... in fact I think I prefer mini bottles especially as Ciate nail polishes retail for £9.00 each!

This set is incredibly good if you love deep rich shades on your nails come this time of year, as you have a perfection selection of deep metallic, duo chromes and rich tones here. I personally love the rich metallic red and the royal blue but all the shades are very wearable.
The only let down with this set is Ciate do state these are one-stroke wonders however the molten gold really does require a few coats as does the metallic red. But other than that this set is really lovely if you are wanting a new selection of good quality nail polishes to try out or of course as a gift. I think most nail polish lover would love this, also the little house looks great as a display on a shelf or desk.
You can find the Haute House set at Boots here or Selfridges here (who I've just realised offer a free click & collection service - got to love avoiding paying delivery costs!)
Also Ciate have just released their last house of the year; a Candy Cane House for Christmas?! This can be found on Asos here for £25.00.
