From the leaves turning to cosy evenings, Autumn is without a doubt my favourite season. So right now I'm in my element, looking forward to things to come, including all the autumnal blog posts I have planned!

NYX Lid Lingerie Eyeshadow Palette £8.00This has to be the budget eyeshadow palette of Autumn 2017! Six large matte eyeshadow pans of glorious warm neutral shades, perfect for the upcoming crisp weather. This strikes me as a very usable palette with not a single shade I wouldn't use (which is rare!) and something I could create quite a number of makeup looks with. I know I will be buying this before summer is out! You can also find it at ASOS here.

Along with a change of wardrobe a new scent signifies the start of a new season for me. In the past I'd go back to old favourites; Thierry Mugler Alien, Calvin Klein Secret Obsession and D&G The One to name but a few, and although I still adore them, I've found trying a new fragrance to be much more exciting.
This Autumn I have three new scents, all of which offer something different and will take me through to 2017. From a newly releases Hugo Boss scent, to an affordable classic with Ghost and a unisex budget friendly perfume from The Body Shop.
If you are looking for a new autumn/winter fragrance then look no further... you may just find your new signature scent right here.

The Body Shop Red Musk
Eau De Toilette 30mlPrice - £13.00 HERE
First up I wanted to include a budget friendly scent from The Body Shop as I've been a fan of their fragrances for over 10 years now (Fuzzy Peach Perfume Oil use to be my fav back in the day!) and I know I can rely on them for low cost scents that smell amazing!
Now I'm not instantly drawn to musk fragrances but do find it creates a good comforting base when paired with other stronger scents and after reading a few reviews I decided to buy Red Musk blind and hope for the best! On my first wear I found it to be quite a masculine scent which I wouldn't normally seek out but with it's soft edges I found it to be comforting and the ideal scent for chilly days.
The main notes in this and the ones I can personally detect are pepper, tobacco (don't worry it's subtle and more wooody than smokey), cinnamon and musk. For me this is exactly how you would want a boyfriend to smell - it's light, slightly sexy, spicy and comforting. Which makes it a perfect unisex scent for the colder months when you are wrapped up in a huge scarf! It can also be worn day and night and I've even found it can be layered making most floral fragrances slightly warmer and deeper.
If you are looking for something different this a/w then pick this one up!

Hugo Boss The Scent
Eau De ParfumPrice - £36.99 (Fragrance Direct 30ml) HERE or £65.50 ( Boots 50ml) HERE
Each season I like to go for a designer perfume, whether that's something I've run out of or a totally new scent. This autumn I have the new luxurious Huge Boss The Scent fragrance which isn't a typical autumn/winter scent as it's floral and very feminine - basically the opposite of the above scent.
This is a fragrance that you really have to leave to die down after spritzing onto the skin as initially it does have a strong peach scent that is similar to a Victoria's Secret scent and not something to you expect from a luxury scent. However after 5 minutes or so the peach mellows into something less sharp and more rounded and becomes a floral fruity scent that's ideal for everyday wear.
As for the bottle it really is weighty and luxurious and will look stunning on any dressing table. In fact I think it's possibly Hugo Boss's best designed bottle to date and really represents the femininity of The Scent.
If you love peach scents but want a more grown-up take then this is the scent to try out. This is a peach perfume done well!

Ghost Deep Night
Eau De Toilette 30mlPrice - £12.99 (Amazon) HERE or £20.00 (Superdrug) HERE
Ghost perfumes have been around for as long as I can remember and offer affordable scents that not only look good but smells good as well. So when I was looking for another autumnal scent but not wanting to spend that much I thought I'd go back to Ghost and a scent I wore at least a decade ago.
Ghost Deep Night is another masculine scent but less so than The Body Shop's Red Musk as it also contains floral notes as well as spicy ones along with vanilla making it soft and warm - basically think wearing your boyfriend's scarf with the scent of your own floral fragrance and you're pretty much there!
Any other time of year I would say this is more of an evening scent however come the colder months this can easily be worn in the day as a deeper warm scent. I particularly love this fragrance on scarves and thick jumpers when it's extra cold as it's so comforting and quite nostalgic for me.

I'd love to know what fragrance you love to wear come autumn and winter!

Autumn is officially here and I for one am ready for it. It's a cosy season, albeit a rainy one, but I can't help falling in love with the colours of fall each year especially when it comes to beauty - deep maroons, wine shades and berry tones on both the lips and nails. Not to mention all things comforting when it comes to body care products.
Here I've put together my favourite affordable autumn products that really are some of my favourites for this time of year. Let me know if you would also like to see a high-end version of this post!

Lips
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream - Copenhagen
£5.50 ASOS (LINK HERE) or Boots (LINK HERE)
The NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams are some of my favourite everyday lip formula; pigmented, soft and comfortable on the lips whilst offering a nice but not overly matte finish, plus they come in every shade you could possibly want. I could recommend so many autumn-worthy shades from the range however my favourite deep berry tone would have to be Copenhagen, the less darker and more wearable sister of Transylvania. The lip cream lasts well throughout the day however it does fade leaving a nice even stain. I also love that the shade can dabbed lightly onto the lips for a lighter berry tone. I have a lot of love for this product.
Makeup Revolution Rose Gold Lipstick - Diamond Life
£3.00 Superdrug (LINK HERE)
Onto such a stunning lipstick with both the rose gold packaging and the actual lip product and for a mere £3 - kudos to Makeup Revolutions here! As you can see this does look a seriously dark lipstick in the bullet but in fact is quite a wearable medium berry shade, look to Private Members Club from the range if you want something extra vampy. This lipstick glides over the lips with ease with a nice hydrated looking finish - side note... I've aware this is very similar to 'NYC Copehagen' however they are totally different in formula making them look different when on the lips. This has made me realise how much I need the raved about Rose Gold Chauffeur lipstick now! Again this is a lipstick that can dabbed onto the lips to give a more pink berry lip stain. If you are on a budget but want to pick up a new berry lip colour then I'd highly recommend making it this one!

Eyes
Maybelline Color 24hr Tattoo - Pink Gold
£4.99 Superdrug (LINK HERE) or Boots (LINK HERE)
Autumn or not the Maybelline Color Tattoo range is my go-to for cream eyeshadows and they really do rival MAC Paint Pots in my opinion. I have countless shades now but come Autumn I reach for Pink Gold much more as it has those red coppery undertones that are oh so pretty and highlights the eyes a dream. If you love enhancing your eyes, especially when wearing a dark lip or adding a highlighting shade to a smokey eye then this is the cream eyeshadow you need this season. It also lasts all day without creasing, plus so little is needed the actual product will last you forever.
Sleek Goodnight Sweetheart i-Divine Palette
£8.99 Boots (LINK HERE)
Can we just appreciate the outer packaging of this palette for a second, please? Oh, I wish some how the lovely imagery could be on the palette as well, because the box is just too lovely to throw away. Packaging aside, this is my first Sleek eyeshadow palette in a long while... not because I don't love Sleek eyeshadows, I really do, but because I've been enjoying this MAC palette. However when this came into my life last week I knew it would become an Autumn staple for me... I mean just look at 'By The Fireside', 'Velvet Wrap' and 'Snuggle', actually all the shades are spot on for the colder months. As always with Sleek eyeshadows expect amazing pigmentation and a wonderful buttery formula! This really feels like a treat but only costs £8.99 for 12 eyeshadows - amazing!

Autumnal Scents
Ghost Deep Night 30ml
£13.60 eBay (LINK HERE) or Fragrance Direct £12.99 (LINK HERE)
I'm pretty sure most people in there 20-30's have tried a Ghost scent at some point. Ghost have been around what seems like forever and they produce some lovely affordable scents. I recently picked up Deep Night as I remember wearing it years ago and enjoying it. I would describe the scent as quite masculine and almost like a woody aftershave but with extra subtle floral notes and vanilla, making it a warm scent. Any other time I would say this is purely an evening scent but come Autumn/Winter it can definitely be worn as a sultry daytime fragrance if you are into deep notes. I personally love this scent being on my scarves in autumn as there is something warming and comforting about it, this could be the masculine aspect of it or that it's just a well rounded slightly spicy scent.
Lush The Comforter Shower Cream 100g
£4.95 Lush (LINK HERE)
Lush are totally on the money calling this a 'snug berry hug' on their website, because it is exactly that! Generally comforting body products are bath products but if you won't have a bath in your home or just don't enjoy them, then it can be tricky to find anything that's ultra relaxing to use in the shower. Cue, The Comforter! With it's uplifting blackberry scent and it's rich cassis notes along with a nice amount of foam this is a joy to use in the shower. I can't fully explain it but it really does feel like a treat and it certainly is comforting especially under warm water. If you are yet to try a shower cream from Lush then make your first one The Comforter and if you're a loyal Lush fan... let me know what else I should pick up from The Comforter range - I'm obsessed!

Nail Polish
Bourjois La Laque - Marron Show
£5.99 ASOS (LINK HERE)
Deep toned nail polishes are a plenty on the high street and I have many a berry shade - I recommend Barry M, Topshop and Rimmel. But this year I fancied something a bit more sophisticated and extra vampy, so I picked up Marron Show from Bourjois; a rich chocolate brown with an ultra glossy finish. Although dark the shade couldn't be mistaken for black and definitely is the grown up shade I was after. I also forgot how faultless Bourjois nail polishes are and will be picking up more shades from the La Laque range in the near future. For now Marron Show will do me well over autumn and winter with it's vampy vibes.
Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure - Vintage Confetti 833
£3.50 eBay (LINK HERE)
Come colder months, especially in the lead up to Halloween and then Christmas, I'm all about top coats on my nails. Whether it's a full on glitter that's a total pain to remove or glistening flexs that catch the lights whilst still letting your base nail colour shine through which is exactly what Vintage Confetti has to offer. I rate Sally Hansen nail polishes in general as they are budget friendly and offer so many amazing shades, but for me the stars of the show are the glitter flecked top coats. Vintage Confetti contains a mix of roughly cut gold pieces along with light pink and black hexagons and teeny tiny strands of orange and micro white dots. This looks amazing over any dark polish which is why it's an autumn favourite, that and the gold pieces catch the light so well reminding me of crisp golden leaves. A truly lovely top coat I've had for many years (SH glitter nail polishes last well!) and something I will be enjoying much more over the next few months.
Hope you enjoyed this autumnal beauty posts and my picks have encouraged you to update your A/W beauty wardrobe!
What is your favourite lip product to wear in Autumn?

Ahh, Autumn I love you so!
Every year I like to do an Autumn tag, just because really! Because it makes me feel extra autumnal, if that can be a thing, and because they seem to be strangely popular - I guess you all love autumn/fall just as much as I do!
Below is an autumn tag I found on a blog here and tweaked slightly, as the last question referred to Thanksgiving and in the UK we sadly don't celebrate it! You can also find the list of questions to copy and paste to your own blog at the bottom of this post.
1. What signifies the start of Autumn for you?
Well I firstly don't need any encouragement other than the 1st of September! It can still feel like summer but I'll be there burning my pumpkin spice candles and browsing plaid scarves on ASOS. However call it cliche but as soon as I see falling leaves I'm declaring autumn! Autumn is all about leaf kicking (with caution!) for me and as soon as I see one golden orange leaf I'm planning Halloween!
2. What is your favourite Fall scent?
Oh, now this is a tricky question, because I'd like to say pumpkin as it seems very autumnal... but have you ever carved a pumpkin? Or even worst, carved pumpkin a left it for two weeks? It's not a smell you want to know about. So pumpkin as a scent is out, and general spice scents seem a bit too vague. So I'm going to go with anything sweet and baked goods like. My favourite candle brand is Village Candle and my go-to scents I burn come autumn are - Maple Butter, Brownie Delight and Warm Buttered Bread, mmmm.
3. What is your favourite Autumn colour?
I love all the colours but burnt orange for me feels very autumn-like, again probably because I love crisp orange leaves around this time of year. There isn't really a way of incorporating it into my wardrobe as it's not a common shade, however I do have a few scarves in a rust orange shade that I love and feel very autumnal wearing. I also love pinning any golden orange autumn landscape photos on Pinterest. Talking of Pinterest you can follow me (Makeupsavvy) if you like. I post a lot of images of puppies playing in leaves and Photoshop edited sunshine filled autumnal pictures!
4. What is your favourite Fall drink?
I'm unfortunately part of the 1% of the UK population that doesn't like hot drinks. Okay, I drink lattes and the occasional hot chocolate come winter but autumn just doesn't seem cold enough to warrant hot drinks for me and sadly there isn't such thing as spiced berry cordial! I do dabble in seasonal Starbuck drinks but I'm sadly more a fan of the cup design than the actual taste!
5. What TV show, new or old, are you looking forward to this Fall?
Instantly 'Stranger Things' came to mind when I read this question as I've been intentionally putting off watching it as it seems the ideal autumn watch. It seems a bit scary, set in the 80's (not sure why that's anything to do with autumn) and it contains fairy lights (fairy lights are the gateway/transition from Halloween to Christmas FYI). So yes, I will be watching and hopefully enjoying Stranger Things come October. If you are in the UK, I'm also looking forward to Strictly Come Dancing to start soon and a new season of The Fall starts at the end of this month on BBC2, which I cannot wait for! I also love watching Hocus Pocus in the lead up to Halloween.
6. What is your favourite Fall fashion trend?
If I'm honest I totally ignore current fashion trends and opt for typically autumnal pieces, so my outfit often consists of a plaid/checked shirt, jeans and tan ankle boots. I love finding inspiration on Pinterest and feel you can't go wrong with a chunky scarf over anything as the weather gets cooler.
7. What is your favourite frugal Autumn activity?
Oh, I do like this question! Now I would love to say going pumpkin picking with one of those sweet little trailers, but sadly I don't live in America so I have to make do with "oooo"-ing as the crates of Pumpkins as you walk into Tesco come mid October. However I would say I love the last week in October in the lead up to Halloween as I often do a few crafts for a family Halloween party, carve a pumpkin (pretty inexpensive) and enjoy the definite change is UK weather, so a few walks to see the changing foliage is a must.
8. What is your favourite makeup look come autumnal weather?
Day-to-day I enjoy ditching the bronzer and achieving dewy skin with a more bronze/red smokey eye than I normally would do, along with a deep nude lip. But occasionally I'm brave and pull out a deep berry lipstick from my vast and often unloved collection. This doesn't happen often but when I do wear a dark berry lip I feel instantly vampy!

I'm currently feeling very autumnal and what better way to embrace that I thought, than with a themed eBay haul - because you know how much I love eBay!
Below I've included my favourite recent buys that suit the new season to a tee - from a new fall PocketBac from Bath & Body Works to an ultra cheap matte eyeshadow palette and a set of pretty bookmarks for only 99p!

Autumn Orchid Phone Case (fits all iPhone models)
£2.99 - eBay HERE
Me and my phone case obsession! Or should that be me and my eBay phone case obsession. As phone cases from eBay are soooo cheap (I normally spend between 99p-£2.99) I like to update them often, especially come a new season, so I went on the hunt for a new autumnal case and found this beauty! This mixes my love of palm print with deep burgundy orchids that aren't stereotypically autumnal but the overall look is very on-trend for the time of year. Really pleased with how this looks and the quality!

So I decided to get another pair with these amazing red/orange mirror tint lenses and now I'm not sure which I love the most! These definitely are much bolder with the black frames and bold red/orange tint and look pretty amazing quality for only £2.37 delivered - the tint really is amazing how it changes in the sunlight. 15 Colour Autumn Eyeshadow Palette
£2.99 - eBay HERE
Now I bought this just for one eyeshadow believe it or not (the top swatch) as I was wanting a matte brown-y red shade. However when this arrived I went and loved all the shades! For £2.99 this really such an affordable palette and surprisingly good quality - as you can see the eye shadows are nicely pigmented. There are so many shades I can't wait to use here, especially as they are all matte. Perfect if you are looking for a new autumnal palette but don't want to spend too much money. One of my favourite buys from eBay this month!

Lastly I had to include the scarf that I used as a prop as although I've had it for many years it is from eBay and was incredibly cheap. These lovely pashminas come is a huge range of colours (I sadly couldn't find the exact colour) and for the price are pretty lovely. Perfect for autumn! I think I may pick up a maroon or burgundy one very soon.
Hope this has put you in the mood for Autumn and you've found a few bargain buys to treat yourself to!

You know where you stand with Autumn. It rains, a lot, and leaves start to turn aesthetically pleasing hues of orange and gracefully fall to the ground. It's secure and kinda' cosy feeling. Okay, I'm romanticising it, but it's still a pretty lovely time of year!
This is why Autumn is my favourite season. I know I can wrap up in a blanket watching TV with a warm drink, whilst browsing the internet for a new pair of ankle boots – girl can multi-task. It's also a time for fresh new paperbacks (ahhh, that smell!) that will transport you to an entire new universe or era.
As you can see I have quite the stack of new books that I plan to get through this Autumn and having gone off some pretty glowing reviews I thought I'd share my new books buys with you. I also saved quite a bit of money, £11.97 to be exact, with Amazon's current 3 for £10 on selected paperback titles offer. Hope you find a few autumnal reads here!

The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware
£5.00 Hardback - Amazon here
I mentioned this book a few weeks ago now as I was drawn to it by all the good reviews on Amazon. Come chillier weather I do like the odd crime mystery read, that won't scare me to death, but still have be holding my breath as I turn the next page - I'm hoping The Woman in Cabin 10 will be exactly that!
The story starts with journalist Lo Blacklock waking to find her flat being burgled. This of course leaves her unsettled and paranoid but when the perfect assignment comes up a week later for a 7-night luxury cruise ship she think it could only do her good to get away from it all. However on board she is witness to a woman being thrown overboard... the only problem - all guests are accounted for. As the cruise carries on with it's journey, as nothing has happened, Lo tries to find the truth whilst I'm sure questioning her sanity. Sounds good, right? I really can't wait to get stuck into this now!
Now, if you've been a reader of Makeup Savvy for some time and have an extremely good memory then you will know I've already read The Paying Guests - and loved it! However I went and bought the paperback version and I plan to re-read it. You see Sarah Waters is a favourite author of mine for being able to transport you back in time and submerge you in that era - generally the Victorian era. However The Paying Guests is set in the later time of the 1920s and tells the story of a mother and daughter forced to take in lodgers to keep their once filled and happy home afloat. Little is as it seems though as the daughter life takes some thrilling twists and turns due to her new friendship with one of the guests upstairs. This is a story of love, crime and history. Expect to be submerged into 1920s London with this brilliant sapphic novel!
A Man called Ove by Fredrik Backman
£6.29 Paperback (part of 3 for £10) - Amazon here
Onto a heartwarming novel now by Swedish author and journalist, Fredrik Backman. These is something that always attracts me to Scandinavian reads, maybe it's there light hearted nature that always had an important underlying message, or the fact I sometimes fancy a quirky read. A Man Called Ove tells the story of a basically grumpy old man and his daily life surrounds by (in his opinion) idiots. But there's something about Ove that's tender, wise and funny. This novel will have you laughing, possibly reminded of your parents or grandparents, and at other times, wiping away a tear. A charming read perfect for this time of year.

One Step Too Far by Tina Seskis
£7.99 Paperback (3 for £10) - Amazon here
A typical thriller read here that I was drawn to from the 'If you loved The Girl On The Train, you'll love this' sticker to the front. One morning wife and mother, Emily Coleman wakes up and walks right out of her life. What makes her do it and how will she survive? And, no matter how hard she tried, can she ever really say goodbye to her past? Ohhhh, this sounds good, doesn't it? As I enjoyed The Girl on The Train I'm sure I'll devour this to find out Emily's secret!
The Little Book of Hygge by Meik Wiking
£6.00 Hardback - Amazon here
Have you heard of 'Hygge' pronounced hoo-gah? It's having a bit of a moment right now in the UK! Until a few years ago neither had I, but when reading The Year of Living Danishly: Uncovering the secrets of the world's happiest country, the term kept popping up and I soon realised that Hygge is a very important thing for danish people and is a huge factor to why they are such happy people. To quote from this wonderful book, Hygge is about atmosphere and an experience, rather than a thing. It's been described as 'the art of creating intimacy', 'cosiness of the soul', and 'the absence of annoyance' to 'taking pleasure from the presence of soothing things', 'cosy togetherness'. For me it's the ultimate practice of self care and that's why I love it - Hygge is good for the soul! So this book is effectively a guide to all things hygge, from hygge in the home, hygge at work, hygge of course at Christmas and how it's enjoyed in summer, plus much more. This is truly a look at how to improve happiness levels and bring calm to you life. An ideal read for autumn.
Behind Closed Door by Elizabeth Haynes
£3.85 Paperback (3 for £10) - Amazon here
Lastly a novel from the bestselling author of Into The Darkest Corner, possibly my favourite thriller to date! Another unsettling read about the disappearance of fourteen-year-old Scarlettt Rainsford who vanishes without a trace during a family holiday to Greece. Only to be discovered in her home town 10 years later. Expect some dark scenes if you do read this as Elizabeth Haynes is known for her authentic writing style - which I love! I have high hopes for this book and can't wait to get stuck into it.

For me it seriously wouldn't be autumn without watching Hocus Pocus! This is such a nostalgic film for me and one I make sure to watch when the weather turns colder and Halloween is nearing. Worth picking up if you haven't watch it since childhood as it's so cheap.
Cute Fawn & Owl Cushion Covers
£2.59 each HERE
Seriously how sweet are these two cushion covers?! I really don't know which one I love the most... okay, I'm thinking it's the owl cover, I just want him to be mine so he can have a name! As a lover of autumn, I love nothing more than to change up the decor in my living room with a few inexpensive items - a few new candles, a leaf garland and autumnal cushions for on the sofa. With the natural material and cute watercolour illustrations, these will look perfectly autumnal on any sofa or bed.
Copper Moscow Mule Mug
£7.89 HERE
Last year I picked up my first ever Moscow mule mug simply because it was copper but I really didn't realise how special mule mugs were. Other than it's aesthetically pleasing exterior this clever mug makes cold drinks impressively cold and keeps hot drinks hotter for longer. I also find it makes fizzy drinks even fizzier! This mug would make a lovely present but also a lovely gift to yourself especially if you're a tea or coffee drinker.
Jam Jar Hanging Fairy Lights
£12.99 HERE
I'm forever eyeing up cute fairy lights on eBay but this may just be my favourite find yet! I mean who wouldn't want hanging jam jar lights! Just super cosy and perfect for autumn. I'm VERY tempted to get these.
Round Cross-Body Bag with Tassel
£7.47 HERE
Lastly, a simple crossbody bag that would go with most autumn-y outfits. I love the woven detail and the tassel and it comes in quite a few colours if brown isn't your thing. In keeping with the round bag theme, I also adore this clock bag here that's a perfect dupe of a Kate Spade bag but without the $300 price tag?!
I can't wait for Autumn to arrive!
Hope you've found some lovely bargain buys here.
Fee xo.
